It’s a fact - anything slow-cooked in beer just tastes better.

Adapted from this Delish Recipe, this slow cooker pulled pork couldn’t be easier. It’s packed full of great flavor and absolutely delicious no matter which way you serve it up. I typically serve it up plain with some freshly baked buttery sourdough biscuits from Pinch My Salt and some steamed or roasted veggies. The leftovers store well in the refrigerator and are great for an easy bbq sandwich, tacos, quesadillas or enchiladas.

Delicious Masters inspired slow cooker pulled pork is great on sandwiches, in wraps, quesadillas or enchiladas, served plain, over mashed potatoes, or with biscuits... the possibilities are endless and no matter which way you choose, it's a hit.

Ingredients

  • ~4 lb. boneless pork shoulder
  • 3 tbsp. packed brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 12 oz. lager/beer of choice

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all ingredients (except the pork shoulder).
  2. Place pork butt in a large slow cooker. Pour mixture over. Cover and cook on high 5-8 hours or until easily shredded.
  3. Once cooked, pull off fat cap and discard. Shred in slow cooker and serve with biscuits, mashed potatoes or as sandwiches.

Notes:

Cook time will vary based on the size of your pork shoulder. I usually use a 3 to 4 pound pork shoulder and cook it for a minimum of 6 hours.
